Observations, recollections, and occasional bursts of radical common sense about places that matter, books worth reading, roots music to nourish the soul, the times we live in, and whatever else tickles my fancy
Santiago Calatrava’s beautiful Samuel Beckett Bridge in Dublin opened for traffic this morning following an official ceremony marking the event yesterday.
This is a work of art that I was privileged to see in September while it was still under construction.
Is there any info on the background of this structure’s’ construction and what inspired its design or what it may signify and why it is named after Samuel Beckett? it is interesting, thanks.
